Subway/Elevated Rail System

To utilize the Chicago Transit Authority's (CTA) subway/elevated rail system, you must first purchase your fare at an on-site vending machine or use
a Ventra card or mobile app.  For additional information on fares, visit the "Where to buy fares" page of the CTA's website at http://www.transitchicago.com/travel_information/fares/wheretobuy.aspx.

O'Hare International Airport
Blue Line: O’Hare to 720 S Michigan Ave.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: As of 9/30/19, there is planned track work for the Blue Line between O'Hare and Rosemont stations, through 10/7/19.

How does this affect my trip?
Shuttle buses will replace rail service between O’Hare and Rosemont. Trains will operate between Rosemont, downtown and Forest Park.
  • This affects both inbound (to the Loop) & outbound (from the Loop) trains.
  • For inbound travel, starting at at O'Hare, board the Shuttle bus at the Shuttle Center above Blue Line Station. Once the Shuttle bus arrives at the Rosemont station, get off the Shuttle bus with your belongings, & get onto the Blue Line train, headed inbound. Remain on the Blue Line until your exit.
    • If you are exiting for the Hilton Chicago, exit the train at the LaSalle Street station. The Hilton Chicago is approximately 8.5 blocks from where you exit the train: walk east 6 blocks toward Michigan Ave; walk 2.5 blocks south on Michigan Ave. The Hilton Chicago will be just south of Balbo Ave, on the southwest side of the street.
  • For outbound travel back toward O'Hare, board your Blue Line train at starting point (ie: LaSalle), & ride to the Rosemont stop. At Rosemont, get off the train with your belongings, & board the Shuttle bus toward O'Hare, which will be at Stop A in the first bay. Ride this bus to O'Hare.
Check transitchicago.com/alerts for the latest service information.
